Lagos Shuts Down Fifty Unlicensed National Lottery Outlets
The Lagos State Government in the bet9ja booking weekend said it had prosecuted over 50 defendants engaging in illegal lotteries operations in the state.The state government therefore warned that it would bring the total weight of the law against any operator in the Lagos State Lotteries Board without formal licence.
Chief Executive Officer of the board, Mr. Lanre Gbajabiamila divulged this in a statement on Friday, noting that the state government would no longer let prohibited lotteries operations in the state.

He added that security operatives "have been mandated to go all out in the metropolis and arrest anyone found running without permit and authorisation from the state lotteries board."
Gbajabiamila insisted the board "remained the only statutory regulatory body for lottery and associated activities in the state."
He clarified that the board was created by the Lagos State Lotteries Law 2004 (as amended) and authorised to permit and regulates bet9ja.mobile .com gaming activities conducted within the state.
He clarified that the board neither issue nor recognises 'sports lottery license/permit' or 'promotional lottery licenses' by whatsoever name called within the state for operations.
Against patronising prohibited operators Gbajabiamila therefore counseled members of the public.
He recorded some of recognised licensed operators enabled "to run lottery and associated actions in Lagos State to incorporate Premier Lotto Limited (Babaijebu), Victor Golden Chance Ventures Limited (Fantastic Chance lotto), Winlot Global Resources Ventures Limited (Winlot), Superior Games Limited (Big Games) and Softplug Gaming Nigeria Limited."
